Paula's Nails and Aesthetics - Pamper Yourself!

Paula’s Nails and Aesthetics is located at 2 Church Street in Gardiner (behind Domino’s). This relaxing nail spa offers many services to treat yourself including facials, waxing, brow and eyelash care, manicures and pedicures. Here are a few words from Paula Murphy about her business:

“I enjoy being able to help people feel good about themselves, whether that be through caring for their nails or skin. I feel like as time goes on people are taking better care of themselves and taking better care of their skin and nails. Back in the day, soap and water was standard skincare and having a manicure meant red nail polish on long nails only! Now people are becoming more educated about what goes into their body and what goes on to their skin and nails. Educating my guests and maintaining the health of the skin and nails is what is most important. I have been a Licensed Nail Technician for over 27 years. I went back to school to obtain my Aesthetics license because I always wanted to do skincare and for the purpose of being able to offer aesthetics services on top of the nail services I was already doing."

If you are thinking about getting a fresh manicure or pedicure for summer, a relaxing facial or want to give someone a special self care gift, call (207) 620-4229 to set up an appointment.

New Grant Program From Gardiner Main Street!

Gardiner businesses can apply for up to $2,500

As a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting economic and community development in its historic downtown, Gardiner Main Street is excited to announce its Catalyst Grant Program. This new grant initiative will provide funding to help strengthen established businesses within the City of Gardiner and encourage growth or development that might otherwise be delayed or less feasible. This program is funded through repaid principal from a concluded loan program.

Our small businesses continue to face challenges brought on from the pandemic and recovery continues to be held back due to soaring inflation, ongoing supply chain disruptions, and staffing shortages. This grant program will provide support Gardiner small businesses to help address these obstacles and critical needs, as well as to plan for long-term success and resilience.

Funded by repayment from a concluded loan program, grants up to $2,500 are available and may be used for many typical business expenses such as physical improvements, inventory, marketing, payroll, and utilities.

Applications are currently being accepted through Friday, June 3. A panel will review applications and make selections based on the impact of the proposed projects, the impact of the company’s services on the community, and the sustainability of the business. Grant reviewers will also consider the number of employees and length of time the business has been in operation.
