Get it in Gardiner - All year long! Business Highlight:
Gardiner Food Co-op at 269 Water Street
Did you know that Gardiner has it's very own Food Co-op? Located right on Water Street across from the park between Johnson Hall and the Blind Pig Tavern you will find the Gardiner Food Co-op & Cafe! The doors opened in 2015, but the Co-op began as food buying club run by a dedicated and hardworking group of local food producers and buyers. They saw the local food scene growing and they worked for several years to establish a brick and mortar store to provide the people of Gardiner and beyond access to farm fresh foods and other locally sourced products.
What does it mean to be a co-op? The Gardiner Co-op is governed and owned by its members but everyone is welcome to shop in the store! Benefits to being a member include periodic specials (10% off on Sundays!), voting for the board of directors and helping to steer the direction that the Co-op will take in the future.
You'll find grocery staples like teas, chips, pasta, sauces, cleaning items, beers, frozen meals and more - there are always new products to find at each shopping trip. They also have an excellent selection of local produce and dairy products. Supporting local food producers plays a vital part in our economy and the benefits of eating a diet filled with fresh, natural food is a great way to stay healthy all year long.
The Co-op also has a cafe with a full service espresso bar, fresh coffee made with locally roasted beans, prepared grab and go foods, and made to order sandwiches - many of which are made with local ingredients. Stop by the Gardiner Food Co-op and see all that this incredible little grocery shop has to offer - and remember that everyone is welcome! If you are interested in learning more about what a Food Co-op is and how you can become a member you can visit gardinerfoodcoop.com or stop in the store to learn more.
The Co-op welcomed Daisy Sauvageau as their new General Manager on January 19th. Daisy comes to the Co-op after 2 years with Hannaford Supermarkets. A native to Boston’s North Shore, and a 2000 graduate of Xavier University, Daisy currently lives in Waterville and is bringing 20 years of experience in retail and food services to the continued growth of the Co-op. Stop by and welcome Daisy to Gardiner!

Livingston Taylor at Johnson Hall
February 12th, 7:30-9:00 pm
Livingston Taylor picked up his first guitar at the age of 13, which began a 50-year career that has encompassed performance, songwriting, and teaching. Born in Boston and raised in North Carolina, Livingston is the fourth child in a very musical family that includes Alex, James, Kate, and Hugh. Livingston recorded his first record at the age of 18 and has continued to create well crafted, introspective, and original songs that have earned him listeners worldwide. He maintains a busy concert schedule, touring internationally. He is a natural performer, peppering his shows with personal stories, anecdotes and ineffable warmth that connect him to his fans. His relaxed on-stage presence belies the depth of his musical knowledge, and fans might just as often be treated to a classic Gershwin or something from the best of Broadway.
